Ayala Land’s Cebu Business Park and Cebu I.T. Park have introduced Car-Free Sundays to promote sustainable living and enhance community livability. The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) supports this initiative by temporarily closing streets to vehicles and encouraging people to walk, cycle, or use alternative transportation methods.
Event Highlights and Activities
Experience the city in a whole new light every Sunday in June from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Car-Free Sundays. This unique initiative transforms the streets into vibrant, pedestrian-friendly spaces, inviting you to walk, cycle, or use alternative transportation methods. It’s a chance to discover these parts of the city in a completely different manner, free from the usual traffic and noise.
Join the community in embracing the new Car-Free Sundays initiative. Daphne Fortuna, the Estate development manager for Cebu Business Park at Ayala Land, is excited about the initiative and hopes it will be well received by the community. By participating in Car-Free Sundays, you’re not just enjoying car-free routes with your loved ones but also contributing to a more sustainable and livable urban space.
On June 2, 2024, Car-Free Sundays debuted at Cebu Business Park in collaboration with the Cebu Orthopaedics Institute, celebrating its 25th anniversary. A run covering distances of 3k, 6k, 12k, and 16k was organized as part of the festivities. Participants of the anniversary run were the first to use the estate’s Car-Free route along Mindanao Ave. Additionally, Anytime Fitness at Cebu I.T. Park hosted an energizing warm-up and dance marathon before the event, encouraging attendees to engage in running, biking, and leisurely walks along the 1km loop along Geonzon St., I. Villa St., JM Del Mar St., and Abad St.

Your participation in Car-Free Sundays is not just about the present but also about the future of our community and environment.
Car-Free Sundays offer a range of benefits. They encourage a healthier and more active lifestyle by motivating people to get out and move around. Furthermore, they contribute to reducing air pollution and carbon emissions, thereby creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
